How old could be Vulcain? – The answer could give a world class deposit

Further to the significant results of its last winter drilling campaign, Matamec Explorations Inc. ("Matamec") announces that it will carry on with the exploration of its nickel-copper-cobalt property Vulcain. The first step will be to define the geological environment associated with the ultramafic rocks of the Renzy lake and of the Vulcain property through detailed cartography. Furthermore, Matamec intends to proceed with the dating of the geological context and the mineralization associates to the mafic/ultramafic rocks of the Vulcain property. The determination of the age of the mineralizations can indeed place Vulcain in a geological period favourable to the development of Ni-Cu world class deposits. All these rocks and mineralizations have never been dated. Several intrusions of ultramafic and possibly mafic/ultramafic rocks are conformable in the archeen paragneiss of the geological province of Grenville and have been surveyed on Vulcain. Furthermore, pegmatites recut these mafic/ultramafic rocks and the mineralizations to which they are associated. For more details regarding the favourable geological environment of the property, we suggest to consult the website of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune (www.mrnfp.gouv.qc.ca/english/mines/spots/spots-hot-base.jsp) under the new heading " Renaissance for the Renzy lake area: nickel-copper discovery on the property Vulcain ". Besides, Matamec announces that WMC Resources Marketing Ltd has renounced to begin negotiations regarding the Vulcain property.
